Natasha Shacklett is a multi media artist living in Biddeford, ME – a historic mill town just outside of Portland. She studies Community Art Education, Sculpture, and Book Arts at the University of Southern Maine. Her roots are in Mid Coast Maine, where she was born and raised amidst the salty sea and thriving art community and where she intends to one day start an Art Farm.
Natasha is fascinated by handmade works of all types: the slow fashion movement, growing your own food/eating local, book arts and book work, really anything sculpted/grown/touched by one’s hand and handiwork. As of late, her work has been influenced by environmental concerns and current events. Natasha believes that art is not only a medium for self-expression, but also a container for starting sometimes difficult conversations about things that are happening in the community, society, and to the Earth.
Most of her work on this site is available for purchase one way or another. Most of her printmaking, and some paintings, are available on her etsy, Wolf and Peacock. From late spring to early fall she can be found at one of many Art Walks across the state. For anything else, or to inquire about a commission, you can send her an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
